Heartland Health Care Clinic will offer flu shots for $35 unless otherwise covered by the individual’s health insurance. Recipients do not have to be patients of HHCC to receive a flu shot. Individuals are asked to bring their health insurance cards, and clinic staff will process insurance claims.
Memorial Hospital’s Lab will offer a lipid panel that analyzes cholesterol and sugar levels for only $5. This test also determines if you have or are at risk for diabetes. Those interested should fast for 12 hours prior to the blood draw. A complete blood count that checks white cells, hemoglobin, and hematocrit will also be available for only $5. This test evaluates overall health and can detect a wide range of disorders such as anemia or leukemia.
Free screenings will include balance/fall risk and blood pressure checks. Information on home water quality testing will be available, and a sonogram demonstration will show how a sonogram detects clogged vessels.
Free items and health information will be available at Fit and Fine Wellness booths. Informational booth topics include DIY Healthy Seasonings, CPR, heart health, stroke, sleep studies, and peripheral vascular disease.
