City of Abilene Names Finance Director

City Manager David Dillner announces the appointment of Marcus Rothchild to serve as Finance Director for the City of Abilene, Kansas. Marcus has previous experience with Werner Enterprises and Alco Stores, Inc., and will be a great asset for the City of Abilene. 

“Marcus brings an outside perspective that will benefit the organization,” says City Manager David Dillner. “He is excited about the opportunity to serve his hometown in a way that will make a meaningful difference.”
Marcus earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Emporia State University. He is originally from Abilene and graduated from Abilene High School.

Shortly after reporting to work, Marcus will get involved with the development of the 2016 Budget and will help implement several initiatives that will increase transparency for the City’s finances.
Marcus will begin his official duties as Finance Director beginning April 13, 2015.
