The Junior League of Abilene made a donation to the Memorial Health System (MHS) Volunteer Corps to help fund the infant car seat program. The MHS Volunteer Corps assists parents of newborns who are unable to purchase a car seat on their own to meet the state law requiring all newborns must be transported in an approved car seat when dismissed from the hospital.
The mission of the Junior League of Abilene is to assist women and families in crisis in Dickinson County. The organization helps fund medical exams, infant car seats, emergency assistance, the Christian Women’s Christmas Fund, supplies to schools for student needs, and adopting families with needs.
The organization raises funds through its annual Junior League Luncheon which will be held April 14. Tickets for the chicken salad lunch are available for $10. Please call Sabrina at 263-1423 for ticket information.
