Sanborn, Memorial Health System (MHS) Rehabilitation & Sports
Medicine Director, is shown demonstrating the Russian-stim (stimulator)
function of a machine to Landen Fisher, Abilene Middle School
(AMS) eighth grade student. The machine stimulates nerves and made
Landen’s fingers move to a position like he was holding something in his
hand without him actually doing it. Landen was shadowing Sanborn as
part of a Middle School class. He was selected after writing a paper on
pursuing a career in sports medicine and/or physical therapy.
