"Low-Riders" - Weenie Race

“LOW-RIDERS” TO TAKE PART IN WEENIE DOG RACE

Weenie dogs race toward the finish line at last year’s event.
There are sure to be some thrills, and maybe some spills, at Flour Power’s Weenie Dog Race on Saturday, May 9.  With their low-to-the-ground stance and aerodynamic bodies, these dogs were built for speed…well, some of them anyway.  The running of the hounds begins at 9:30 a.m. with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m. in front of the National Guard Armory building.  If you’re a pet-lover, this fun event will put a smile on your face, and you may even see some of the dogs smile!

If your weenie dog is up for some fun and racing or just needs to stretch those little legs, enter him or her in the race!  Registration will be done the day of the event and is only $10.  No pre-registration this year.  The entry fee includes a t-shirt and gift bag.

If your dog is at least half miniature dachshund, he or she may be entered in the friendly competition.

The Weenie Dog Race is free to watch and is sure to be a howling-good time for the entire family!
This event is sponsored by Paws N Claws, Abilene Animal Hospital, Midwest Greyhound Supply, Family Eye Care, Meade Auto, and Bartley Kennel all of Abilene and T.O. Haas Tire & Auto in Junction City.

There is something for everyone to see and do at Flour Power in Abilene May 8 and 9 with no admission charge.  For more information, call 785-263-6688 or visit: www.FlourPowerKS.org.
