FLOUR POWER OFFERS A TASTE OF BBQ
Flour Power offers a barbeque dinner on May 8 at the Abilene Fairgrounds. Sandy Foltz, Abilene, is shown enjoying the 2014 Flour Power BBQ Dinner. |
If you like to eat really good barbeque, you may want to start with the Samplings. Starting at 5:30 p.m. Friday, teams participating in Saturday’s competition grill-off will be offering tasty samplings right off the grill. This is your chance to not only eat competition-level goodness, you can talk directly with the teams. Will they share a secret or two? Come and find out. The booths of participating teams will be plainly marked. Each team will decide what tasty morsel it will offer to tempt your taste buds. The currency will be BBQ bucks which will be available for purchase.
Friday night you can also enjoy the full meal deal of smoked pulled pork, baked beans, coleslaw, cookie, and iced tea. The dinner begins at 5:30 p.m. in air conditioned Sterl Hall. Carry-out is available. Tickets for adults are ten dollars and children age ten and under eat for five dollars. Don’t be late; serving ends when the food runs out.
Flour Power is hosted by Memorial Health Foundation. It is held in conjunction with the Midwest Championship Demo Derby. For more information visit www.FlourPowerKs.org or call 785-263-6688.
