RURAL CENTER STUDENTS DONATE STUFFED ANIMALS TO HOSPITAL

RURAL CENTER STUDENTS DONATE STUFFED ANIMALS TO HOSPITAL

Shown with the students from left in back row are Joetta Nagely, Music Teacher Rural Center; Michelle McClanahan, Memorial Health System Director of Volunteer Services; and Beth Kiser, Memorial Hospital ER Nurse Manager.
Kindergarten through fifth grade students from Rural Center Elementary School stopped by Memorial Hospital to make a generous donation.

The students’ theme for their Christmas program this year was "Honey of a Holiday."  The students tied that theme into their donation of 60 stuffed teddy bears and other stuffed animals to Memorial Hospital.  The stuffed animals will be given to children who are patients in the Emergency or Med/Surg departments.

Joetta Nagely, Music Teacher at Rural Center Elementary School of U.S.D. 473, stated that the students have been collecting bears since the beginning of December.  The students came dressed as teddy bears for the donation and sang a holiday song in the Memorial Hospital lobby.
