Students at Abilene Middle School know how to have fun! As a showcase of positive actions, the entire student body participated in a Lip Dub to Taylor Swift's song "Shake It Off." Organized and executed by the Longhorn Leaders, a leadership group within AMS, the lip dub idea was inspired by the events of the October Kindness Promotion week organized by AMS counselor Jenny Wilkins. The week emphasized the importance of spreading kindness, reporting bullying, and not allowing negativity to hamper student decision-making.

"The song 'Shake It Off' promotes the ideas of staying positive in a world of constant criticisms. In other words, since 'haters gonna hate,' our students have to learn to take on a positive outlook, make positive choices, and shake off negativity," said Longhorn Leader co-sponsor Chris Delay. "This video is a great introduction to all of the awesome opportunities Abilene Middle School has to offer."
