Learn and Grow Depot Children Learn About Dental Health

Debb Homman, Infant/Toddler Specialist with Child Care Aware of Kansas, demonstrates how to properly brush teeth using an oversized toothbrush and mouth of teeth as props. Homman gave the presentation to two different groups at Learn and Grow Depot in Abilene.

 Children at Learn and Grow Depot were all ears while they heard about how to take care of their mouths recently. Debb Homman, Infant/Toddler Specialist with Child Care Aware of Kansas, came to Learn and Grow Depot to talk to the children about dental health during National Children’s Dental Health Month.

Homman read the books “Freddie Visits the Dentist” by Nicola Smee and “Just Going to the Dentist” by Mercer Mayer to the children. She also gave a demonstration on how to brush teeth, had a craft project for each child to do, and provided each child with a new toothbrush.

Learn and Grow Depot continues to promote a healthy and active lifestyle to the children enrolled in the child development center. The goal is to make healthy choices a normal part of life.
