5K Run Benefits Mammography Patients Unable to Stand

5K Run Benefits Mammography Patients Unable to Stand

Memorial Hospital Mammography Services has added a mammography chair that benefits patients who are unable to stand during a mammogram.  Shown with the chair are (from left) Jennifer Elliott, Memorial Health Foundation Director, and Rhonda Schmid, Memorial Hospital Mammography Technologist.
Impact the Cure, an annual 5K run and 2 mile Fun Walk, raises funds that benefit mammography services at Memorial Hospital.  The recent purchase of a mammography chair with Impact the Cure funds will benefit mammography patients who are unable to stand during a mammogram.

Memorial Hospital’s Mammography Technologists requested the purchase of an adjustable mammography chair because of the number of patients they were seeing who had difficulty standing.  During a mammogram, the arms of the mammography chair can be removed, the back of the chair can recline, and the height of the chair will adjust as needed.

“This chair enables us to get better views during the exam and is easier and more comfortable for the patient. This will help many patients.” commented Rhonda Schmid, Memorial Hospital Mammography Technologist.

Memorial Health Foundation Director Jennifer Elliott expressed thanks to those in the community who support the Impact the Cure fundraiser which made the purchase of the chair possible.
