Irish Folk Singer, Eddie Delahunt performs August 27th at Great Plains Theatre
Abilene,
KS, August 23, 2107: Great Plains Theatre and Bonebrake Productions opens
its first of a ten concert series with Eddie Delahunt an Irish folk musician,
on Saturday, August 27th at 7pm, at Great Plains Theatre, 401
Cottage Avenue, Abilene. Delahunt born and raised in Dublin, Ireland,
came to America in 1989 with rucksack in hand and guitar on his shoulder.
Delahunt opened in America with a 2-week gig at pub in Kansas City and the rest
is history. Since he began his music career, Delahunt has released
numerous CD's. His latest CD is Whiskey, Wakes, and Weddings, revisits
traditional favorites with some new material. "Performing is the
best feeling of all," says Eddie, "it's never the same twice. I
never use a set list as one song begets another, and one crowd is, of course,
different than another. A nice applause is always appreciated, but putting
a smile on someone's face or a tear in their eye-that's magic." Delahunt's
music features traditional Irish ballads, energized guitar riffs, and original
lyrics and tunes. "Eddie's Irish charm is infectious," says
James Holland, Producer of Bonebrake Promotions.
Bonebrake
Promotions and Great Plains Theatre are producing a series of ten concerts to
perform in Abilene between August and February 2017. "We
had a great partnership with Bonebrake Promotions before we lost the building
in 2014," states Elizabeth Weese, Executive Director of Great Plains
Theatre, "and James and I have renewed the partnership to bring a variety
of music back to GPT and Abilene." Hollands says, "I relish the
opportunity to have live music back in Abilene on a consistent
