Need to Birth A Baby - Here a Class For You

MEMORIAL HOSPITAL TO OFFER CHILDBIRTH EDUCATION CLASS

Memorial Hospital’s Birthing Center is offering a Childbirth Education Class.   The birth of a child is a momentous and memorable occasion. At Memorial Hospital, your family is our family. Our birthing center offers individualized care and support for parents, newborns, and siblings before, during, and after the birth of your new baby. We feel privileged to share this experience with you and care for your family.

MHS take pride in the care we provide. Our patients rated Memorial’s Labor & Delivery Care at 94 out of 100 compared to the national average score of 65 in a report published by the Center for Disease Control.

The childbirth class is comprised of two class sessions. The first session will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 13, in Conference Room B at Memorial Hospital.  The final session will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, August 15, in the Nichols Education Center, 1003 N. Brady.  Attendees should park on the east side of the building and enter through the east door.  Attendees are asked to attend both sessions. If unable to attend a session, please call 263-6668 to schedule a make-up class.

Contact Memorial Hospital’s central scheduling office at 263-6660 to register. The class is offered free to anyone delivering at Memorial Hospital and for a small fee for those who do not plan to deliver at Memorial Hospital.

Kristen Srna, Memorial Hospital RN, will teach the class. Classes are informal.  Instructional information can be individualized to participants’ needs. Participants are encouraged to dress comfortably and attend with a supportive partner. A light meal will be provided. Sibling and refresher classes are also available by request.
