Abilene Board Vacancy - Board of Zoning Appeals
The City of Abilene is seeking individuals interested in serving on the Board of Zoning Appeals. The City Commission appoints members to three-year terms who serve the City Commission by hearing and deciding zoning cases where a variance is requested or an administrative interpretation is appealed.
The City Commission is seeking to appoint individuals to fill three vacancies on the Board of Zoning Appeals with terms ending in May 2018. The City Commission will make annual appointments to its appointed boards and commissions at its May 11th regular meeting. Please apply on the City's website by April 28th if you are interested in serving on the Board of Zoning Appeals.
Serving on the Board of Zoning Appeals is an excellent way to get involved on a City-appointed board or commission. The Board meets only when needed, and the number of cases coming up for review has historically been low. Dates and times for meetings, as well as locations, are announced prior to the Board's meeting.
More information about the Board of Zoning Appeals may be found on the City's website. Questions may also be directed to Community Development Director Tim Hamilton by phone at (785) 263-2355 or by email at development@abilenecityhall.com.
