Michelle McClanahan, Memorial Health System Director of Volunteer Services, has been selected to serve as co-president of the Kansas Association of Healthcare Volunteer Resource Professionals (KAHVRP).
KAHVRP is an allied organization of the Kansas Hospital Association that provides structure for the development of professional administration of volunteer services departments within health care facilities including hospitals, senior care facilities, and hospice. The state chapter offers educational sessions twice a year for professional development in the field. It also develops standards for volunteer services in health care facilities and provides a communication network among directors of volunteer services in the state.
McClanahan will serve as co-president for one year along with Kristi Nichols, Volunteer Coordinator at Newman Regional Health in Emporia.
