Thursday afternoon a small crowd of Dickinson county Republicans gathered in support of Governor Sam Brownback. Brownback was also accompanied by Congressman Tim Huelskamp, Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt, Kansas Treasurer Ron Estes and Lt. Governor Jeff Colyer. The crowd was also expecting Senator Pat Roberts but his daughter was there to speak in his place.

Brownback spoke of “reclaiming family values,” lowering taxes for Kansas residents and took pride in raising the interstate speed-limit to 75mph. Brownback also told the crowd that he has increased funding for schools, despite protests of the Brownback campaign from the Kansas National Education Association.
