Kansas Democrats Receive Endorsement from Major Union
The Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees Division (BMWED) of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters has officially endorsed Paul Davis, Jill Docking, Jean Schodorf, Jim Sherow and six other Democratic candidates in Kansas.
Freddie N. Simpson, Vice President at Large of the Teamsters Rail Conference and President of the BMWED, along with BMWED Director of Government Affairs, Charlie R. Hogue, presented the endorsements to Kenny Riffel, Chairman of the Democratic Party in Dickinson County.
“Paul, Jill, Jean, Perry, and all of our candidates are proven and dedicated public servants who will work to bring bi-partisan leadership and common sense back to Topeka and Kansas,” said Riffel. “We proudly accept these endorsements on behalf of all Kansas Democrats and thank the BMWED/Teamsters for their support in this crucial election.”
Founded in 1903, the Teamsters currently represent 1.4 million members in 21 industrial divisions in both the private and public sectors. The BMWED was founded in 1887 and is a member of the Teamsters Rail Conference which currently represents about 70,000 rail workers across the United States.
