MHS Volunteer Corps Annual Meeting

Members of the Memorial Health System Volunteer Corps are pictured at the annual recognition held in January.  The theme of the meeting was “Hats Off to Our Volunteers”. In 2015, the volunteers donated a total of 7,911.75 hours.
The Memorial Health System Volunteer Corps’ Annual Meeting was held on January 28 at the First Presbyterian Church in Abilene.  Speakers at the event included emcee Nancy Gugler, 2015 President MHS Volunteer Corps Executive Board, and Mark Miller, Memorial Health System CEO.

The theme for the meeting was “Hats off to Our Volunteers”.  Those attending the meeting were encouraged to wear a hat. Entertainment was provided by the “Young at Heart Singers” from Frontier Estates in Abilene.

The officers installed to serve on the MHS Volunteer Corps Executive Board were Doris Chaput, President; Wendy Klosterman, President-Elect; Nancy Gugler, Past President; Joe Sanfilippo, Treasurer; Naoma Foltz, Recording Secretary; Linda Duncan, Corresponding Secretary; and Janice Roth, Member at Large.  These officers will each serve a two-year term.

The meal was catered by Memorial Hospital’s Food and Nutritional Services Department. The meal was served by MHS Department Managers.

According to MHS Director of Volunteer Services Michelle McClanahan, MHS volunteers donated a total of 7,911.75 hours in 2015 and over 150,000 hours since the group’s inception in 1992. The MHS Volunteer Corps is comprised of 62 active members.
